July 4th Weekend

I know I'm a little behind on the blogging. Still catching up from the busy weekend. Not much different from the busy weeks. Seems there is always something to do. We have fun anyway! We attended the 4th of July parade as we do every year. This was Daniel's 1st 4th celebration. We were a little unsure of how he would do at the parade with all of the sirens. Every time we hear a fire engine he holds his ears and shouts "Youd!" He loves fire engines. They are just apparently very YOUD. He did great. He didn't hold his ears once even though they were very loud. Even Leah held her ears a few times.

The kids bring buckets, bags, anything that can hold candy as the parade participants throw candy from the cars/floats as they go by. Daniel had no idea why he was carrying around this bucket before the parade started so he figured he'd make use of it.

It was a very dreary day and was misting a lot during the parade. Then it started to rain. We still sat and watched. I think the kids enjoyed it more in the rain.

We took the day off on Saturday and recovered from the past few days. Sunday we took the kids to a Phillies game. This was Daniel's 1st game. We watch the Phillies every night so he knows the game and some of the players. He can be heard yelling at the TV "Ryan Howard!", "Homerun!" and our favorite "Oh, man!". We've been saying that a lot recently unfortunately.

We love the Phanatic!

The Phils played the Mets and Daniel learned how to Boooooooooooo like a true Philadelphian. Now it's official, he's an American :)

Unfortunately our Fightens were losing. There wasn't much to cheer about. What's a guy to do? Take a nap!
The Phils started a comeback. Then the skies opened up and the downpour began. Game was on rain delay. We waited awhile but it was getting late so we decided to trek back to the car in the POURING rain. Even with umbrellas and raincoats we were drenched. We had a good time jumping in puddles up to our ankles. We ended up having dinner and getting home to watch the end of the game at 8:30 (it started at 1:30). The Phils lost but we had fun!
