We're Still Here

Sorry for being MIA the past month. I've been receiving some concerns (thanks Steph and FHL!) and some others who have been requesting updates (yes, you Kelly!). We are all well. Just been very busy and I'm losing interest in my blogging recently due to being addicted to facebook. If anyone is on Facebook, look me up! The kids are doing great. I have posted the most recent photos (Easter Portraits). We are looking forward to warmer weather. I don't have much time to write at this moment. Just wanted to post a quick post to say we are ok and thanks for all your well wishes! I'll try and catch up with my blog and also catch up with your blogs soon!

Snow! Yay!

We finally got some snow. Just before dinner last night we bundled up and headed out to play. We haven't had any good snow for well over a year. We played some, went in and had dinner and then headed back out to take a nice stroll in the snow and make a snowman. Schools are opening 2 hours late today so Leah will not have any school since she is only 1/2 day. I'm sure we'll be bundling up and heading back out this morning. I love the snow but am still mad at that darn groundhog. I need Spring!

Happy New Year. Chinese New Year that is :)
It is the year of the Ox. This is my year. I was born under the sign of the Ox. Hope it is a good one.
We had our party with our playgroup yesterday. We had a blast! We have such a great group of families. We are so lucky to be a part of such a great group. We had a delicious dinner. The kids had fun doing arts and crafts, pinata and the bubble wrap firecrackers. It was such a good time. I'm sad it's over. Here are few pics and a slideshow. Enjoy!

Christmas and Leah's Birthday

Well, December pretty much flew by us. We were so busy with birthdays, fun trips and Holiday visits. We went to Hershey Park for their Christmas Candylane. We had fun. It was cold but the kids had a blast on the rides (yes, outside in the 20 degree weather) and warmed up with some yummy hot cocoa.
We spent December listening to Daniel tell us that he wanted a radio and a game from Santa. Anyone he met knew he wanted a radio (for his room "like Leah" and a game - Leapster - also like Leah). We had an elf visit us for the Month. His name was Jingles. He appeared magically one morning sitting on our mantle. Daniel discovered him 1st. He brought with him a book which told the story of why he was there. Apparently Santa sent him to watch over Leah and Daniel. Each night Jingles would fly back to the North Pole and tell the Big Guy of any events (good or bad) that occurred during the day. When Leah and Daniel woke up Jingles was in a new spot. They loved finding him and laughed at his crazy antics. One morning Jingles was hanging upside down from the dining room light. Another day he was on top of the fridge with a glass of water and a Santa straw. Getting close to Xmas, Jingles was getting tired. We found him one morning laying on a pillow covered by a blanket. Poor guy. Sure hope he's on a beach in the Caribbean right now. When he heard Santa's sleigh on Xmas eve he left with Santa. But, he'll return next year for another visit. Leah was sad to see him go so she asked him if the last day he could sit on the sofa so she could take a picture with him. You can see the photo in the slide show.

Let's see , what else......Oh, am I the only one who thinks that Fisher Price's Little People Nativity Set is a sacrilege? Many a moment I could hear Mary (Leah) screaming for dear life "I"M FALLING!" (off a cliff no less) and one of the heroic wise men (Daniel) running and yelling "Me help you!"
This was not the first time the holy family has endured this type of behavior. A few years ago when Leah was about 3 she and I were playing. I was a wise man, she was Mary of course. The Wise man (is there a such thing?) told Mary, "We will watch for the star and we will know the baby has been born". Mary replies "We have your cel phone number, we'll call you." Of course, what was I thinking. The wise men arrived (after getting the call) and sat down to a delicious dinner of chicken nuggets and macaroni and cheese prepared by Mary herself. Seems she did pretty well post natal in that stable. Ah the memories.

Christmas Day was very nice and busy as usual. Leah woke up first and had to suffer an excruciating 35 minutes waiting for Daniel. She shook those gifts so many time trying to figure what was in them. The kids had fun opening the presents. As you see in the photos, Fager did too. She makes herself visible in almost every photo.

It's been awhile............

Yes, I am alive and well. Just very busy :) With the Holidays and work I have had no time to blog. I promise to back to regular blogging soon. We have done so much over the past few weeks, between Christmas, New Years and Leah's birthday. I have lots of photos, however, they'll have to wait for another day. Today we went and met the one and only Phillies Phanantic! A local restaurant had him for an event today and we surprised the kids. We were all dressed up in our Phillies gear. Leah didn't think it was strange that the entire family was dressed in red. Then again, I guess that's not that abnormal. Anyway, we ate lunch then started getting our coats on. Leah asked where we were going and we told her out to eat. She looked at us like we were nuts and said "But I'm not hungry". We told her just to eat a slice of pizza. Then she sees me with the 2 cameras and asks what they are for. I told her I was doing a project for work where I had to video tape people eating pizza. Again, the look on her face was "This woman is indeed insane."
Once we got there and she saw all the people wearing Phillies gear she still didn't get it. We told her finally and she was excited. So, the Phanatic came into the big room and danced and made fun of people and did the regular Phanatic stuff. Leah got to dance with him and he gave her a big 'ol kiss on the forehead. Daniel was not so sure. The Phanatic doesn't look so large on TV or at the Phillies games. He ran to Daddy and was safe in his arms until the big green creature was safely out of sight. He loves the Phanatic on TV, just not 2 feet away (and 6 feet high) :) Anyway here is some video and photos. I'll be back with a recap of Christmas, New Years and Leah's Birthday soon!
